August 3, 2002
This past Saturday, August 3, 2002, McAninch Motorsports raced at 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas for the first time this year.
McAninch Motorsports had a rough start Saturday night at 81 Speedway. Last week, the 52 Machine had gone through some modifications to better its performance on the track. During hot laps, the 52 Machine did not handle as planned, and had motor and other mechanical problems. We were able to get things under control, just in time for our heat race.
We started the night with a second row-inside starting position in the first heat race. We had several cautions, took advantage of them, and placed 1st in our heat race.
In the A-Feature our starting position was first row-inside, with many good drivers to overcome. We battled for the 1st place position, but Davey Nall would get the start. We were running forth most of the race, but with many cautions and restarts; Delbert Smith managed to slide into fourth. Ryan drove hard to make sure that he didn't lose another position to 14-Kyle Berck. We managed a fifth place finish in the NCRA Late Model main event.
Our next scheduled races will be August 9, 2002 in Hutchinson at the Hutchinson Raceway Park and August 10, 2002 in Salina at the Salina Speedway track. We hope to see you there!!!
