RACE REPORTS
August 17-18, 23-24 2002
McAninch Motorsports has had several weekends of back to back racing this past month. We raced on August 17, 2002 in Jetmore, Kansas at the Jetmore Motorplex and August 18, 2002 in Belleville, Kansas at the Belleville High Banks for the first time this year.
Saturday night in Jetmore, we placed fourth in heat 3, finishing behind Delbert Smith, Eddie Tidwell, and David Garrman. In the A-Feature, we finished the race in 10th place.
We hoped and anticipated to improve our performance the next night, but uncontrollable circumstances changed the outcome for us Sunday night in Belleville. We placed second in our heat race, finishing right behind Delbert Smith. In the A-Feature, we had a good chance of finishing in the top five, but during the race we lost pressure from our fuel pump and could not finish the race.
This past weekend, we only raced in Mayetta, Kansas at Thunderhill Speedway, because the race scheduled for August 23, 2002 in Nebraska was cancelled due to rain. The race will be rescheduled at later date. The 52 Machine raced against 33 Late Models Saturday night in Mayetta, Kansas and we placed 3rd in our heat race, finishing behind Steve Kosiski and Kyle Berck. In the A-Feature, Ryan tried many groove combinations to gain lead, but could only maintain a 12th place finish.
McAninch Motorsports races Labor Day weekend on August 31, 2002 at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kansas. We hope to see all our race fans this weekend for an exciting night of racing!!
