RACE REPORTS

July 6, 2002

Last weekend, McAninch Motorsports tackled Salina Speedway for the second time this racing season. The last time we were in Salina, Kansas we qualified for the A-Feature, but unfortunately due to uncontrollable circumstances we were unable to finish the race. This time around would be a different story, as we tried to challenge Mike Brown for the victory, but could only maintain a second place finish.

We started the night with a fourth row starting position in the third heat race. It was going to be challenge to move up in the ranks starting from the back, competing with drivers Jason Friesen, Kyle Berck, and Earl Kinderknecht, but we knew we could do it. There were many cautions in our heat, and Ryan took advantage of every single one, and placed 2nd behind Jason Friesen in our heat race.

In the A-Feature we started with a first row starting position with Mike Brown. At the start of the race we tried to challenge Mike for first place, but he would only pull away. The A-Feature had many cautions and many restarts. During several restarts Larry McDaniels challenged us for 2nd place, but Ryan never gave up any ground. We were pleased and excited to take home a second place victory that night!!

This weekend, McAninch Motorsports will be competing against the TORA gladiators on July 13, 2002 at Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas and July 14, 2002 at Wakeeney Speedway in Wakeeney, Kansas. Also, don't forget the new 2003 McAninch Motorsports t-shirt is now available for purchase. We hope to see you there this weekend for 2 full nights of racing!
