RACE REPORTS

March 9, 2004

Last weekend, McAninch Motorsports took on the banks of Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska for the first time this season. The race was previously scheduled for April 9, 2004 but then was rescheduled due to weather.

The 52 Machine started the night in the 3rd heat race out of 4. Ryan was not sure what to expect as this was his first time too race at this track. Track conditions were rough and Ryan was only able to finish 7th in his heat as he caused a caution on lap 8.

Now that McAninch Motorsports was unable to place in the top 4 of his heat, we would have to start the B-Feature from the back. There were 14 Late Models in our feature and only the top 4 would transfer to the main event. Ryan drove hard and maneuvered many groove combinations to bring the 52 Machine to the front, but was only able to finish 5th in the feature. It wasn't over yet! Ryan was able take a provisional and compete in the A-Feature.

While starting at the back of the A Feature from a B transfer, the 52 Machine slowly was able to gain track position, but due to the harsh conditions of the track, 3 of the 4 nuts & bolts connecting the ball joint to the upper control arm on the right side of the car became loose and caused the car to become no longer competitive in the 2nd half of the race and Ryan was only able to drive the car to a 17th place finish.

McAninch Race Fans, we hope to see you May 7, 2004 at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City and May 8, 2004 at Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas for 2 great nights of racing!!!!
